PARENT PARTICIPATION
Parents and families have many opportunities to participate in student learning each and every day. We train and schedule families who are able to volunteer as regular classroom aides, field trip chaperones, Parents at Lunch or in other on-site and instructional support roles.
Other opportunities for parent involvement are coordinated through the Branch Line School Foundation, a 501(c)(3) partnership between volunteer community members and all BLS staff and families, created to work closely with and support Branch Line School by planning events, enrichment activities, service learning, and professional project opportunities, and by coordinating fundraising, resource development, and community outreach.
We welcome your input and feedback. If you would like to share your ideas with us, or need any additional information on how our program works, please email us or visit the office. We are more than happy to hear your thoughts and answer your questions.
Board meetings are held monthly and are open to the public. Board documents and the board meeting schedule are available by visiting the Transparency Reporting section of this website. The Branch Line School Board of Directors is a volunteer board whose job it is to promote the educational interests of the students by setting policy, approving the school budget, and providing governance to the school. The board is made up of Branch Line parents and community members. Any parent or community member may apply to be on the board.
Board meetings are a time for board business to be conducted. Public participation is welcome during the Public Comment section of the meeting. If you wish to make a comment, you will be asked to fill out a brief comment form and you will be given three minutes for your comment. Please note that this is not a time for questions about the school to be answered. The board will note your concerns and may address them in a future meeting, if needed. If you have immediate questions or concerns that need to be addressed, please email or visit the school office and we will be happy to assist you.
